Members of the Rutgers Community:
I am pleased to inform you that Timothy J. Fournier has been appointed as Senior Vice President for Enterprise Risk Management, Ethics, and Compliance. Tim, who began his duties in August, comes to Rutgers with extensive experience in higher education administration, including risk mitigation, compliance assessment, and research integrity, in addition to business planning and process redesign.
Dr. Fournier comes to the University after serving for six years as managing director for higher education at Huron Consulting Group, supporting dozens of public and private colleges, universities, and academic medical centers. Prior to that, he was associate vice president for research integrity at Northwestern University and then senior associate dean for finance and administration and the first chief operating officer for Northwestern University in Qatar. He also served as institutional compliance officer for the University of Pennsylvania and its health system.
Dr. Fournier received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, an MBA from Northwestern, and an EdD in higher education management from UPenn. In addition to helping create the University Compliance Group and the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Forum on Conflict of Interest in Academe, he has been a repeated presenter and moderator for meeting of higher education associations, including such organizations as ACE, NACUBO, NCURA, AAMC, and AASCU.
Tim Fournier is committed to ensuring a culture of ethical business conduct and having Rutgers serve as a model institution for the robust administration of enterprise risk management, compliance, and ethics. I am happy that he has joined Rutgers and look forward to working with him as we continue striving to reach Rutgers’ highest potential as a leading public research university.
Please join me in welcoming Tim to Rutgers.
Sincerely,
Robert Barchi
